Ex-Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto stunned thousands of Jubilee supporters in Kapkatet stadium when he refused to were Jubilee cap despite showing solidarity with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In unprecedented move, Rutto, who has been working with opposition NASA, threw his support behind Jubilee party.
While giving a speech, Rutto had to dismiss Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago who had approached him with a Jubilee cap.
“Just leave that one aside because we are dealing with important issues first,” said neither Rutto, who was neither dressed in Jubilee party attire nor his traditional Blue of CCM.
He added:”We have come to support you people. We want you to complete your term and that is our wish.”
At the rally, Rutto was ushered in by Deputy President William Rutto, with whom they have been having personal and ideological differences for long.
It is however not clear whether he will fold up his CCM for Jubilee or he will sign a memorandum of understanding with the ruling party.
