[Photo/Nation]Consider yourselves sacked, Nandi county government Stephen Sang has told striking nurses in his county.Speaking on Tuesday during the opening session of the county assembly, Sang said his government will contract new nurses to replace those he claims have absconded their duties."We are in the process of compiling data in order to establish how many nurses are back to work," Sang is quoted by the Star."We will proceed forthwith to engage nurses on contract basis to replace those who have deserted duty," Sang added.The Jubilee governor called on the Nandi MCA's to help solve the health crisis in the region once a health committee is formed."We ask the county assembly, in particular, the health committee once formed, to help in dealing with this health crisis," Sang said.Nurses have downed their tools for more than 3 months in the push for implementation of their 2013-17 Collective Bargaining Agreement.The governor's council had issued a notice to the nurses to report back to work by September 8, 2017, failure to which counties would dismiss them.
