Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has ordered the county security team to be vigilant and deal with the burgeoning illicit liquor menace in Nandi, given that it’s believed the illicit liquor is shipped in from Uganda.
Addressing the public at the 54th Jamhuri day celebrations at Kapsabet showground, Governor Sang wondered how the liquor is shipped into the country, yet traffic police are always stationed at roadblocks, saying they should be in a position to know better.
He further directed the town administrator Mr. David Sugut to lead a massive crackdown within Kapsabet town and its environs in order to deal with the menace.
He said illicit brews shouldn’t be entertained, especially after the adverse effects have already been witnessed, most notably loss of eyesight and death.
