Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has slammed NASA leader Raila Odinga over his proposal of forming an interim government.Mvurya said Raila has no moral authority and right to call for the formation of an interim government.Speaking to journalists at his office in Kwale on Wednesday, the Jubilee Governor said Raila’s proposal amounts to wishful thinking.“Raila Odinga should realise that the country has a legitimate president-elect and there is no basis on which an interim government should be formed,” said Mvurya.Mvurya criticised Raila, saying he is using every trick to force the formation of a coalition government. He asked the former Prime Minister (PM) to stop living in denial and accept that Uhuru Kenyatta is the president-elect. The former Raila ally claimed that the opposition is plotting to sabotage Uhuru’s administration, adding that NASA’s push for the creation of People’s Assemblies and economic boycott is a calculated move to frustrate Uhuru’s second term if upheld by the Supreme Court. In an interview with Reuters on Tuesday, Raila said Kenya should form a six-month interim government to allow for constitutional review. The opposition is also pushing for fresh presidential elections, arguing that the October 26 repeat presidential election was shambolic.A section of opposition politicians has since threatened to swear in Raila if President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta is sworn in for a second term.
