The National Super Alliance (NASA) has been told off following their suggestions that there should a caretaker government in the event repeat presidential election is not held within the stipulated 60 days.

Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago says such a thought is far fetched and will never happen.

Addressing the press in Eldoret town on Thursday, Mandago insisted that President Uhuru Kenyatta will remain in charge until when another president is duly elected by Kenyans.

"NASA should accept the fact that Uhuru Kenyatta is the president and will only vacate that office once another president is elected even if it means for us to do elections in 2022," noted the Jubilee governor.

Mandago however said the Jubilee party and its leadership will do everything within their powers to ensure elections are conducted within 60 days as directed by the Supreme Court.

"You went to court seeking to nullify the election results and now that you got what you wanted be prepared for fresh election on October 26," Mandago told NASA.

Siaya Senator James Orengo, a key figure in the NASA coalition was recently quoted saying there might be the need for the country to have a caretaker President who will not be President Kenyatta should IEBC fail to do a repeat election within the constitutional 60 days.
