The Machakos Governor, Alfred Mutua, is set to commission various development projects implemented by his government in Athi River early next week.
This is according to Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, who said the governor had confirmed his coming since the targeted projects were expected to be complete by then.
Speaking at his office in Athi River on Wednesday, Makau said the governor would lead in commissioning of DEVKI - Athi River Rd, CCTV's and security streetlights on the same road and Mombasa-Namanga Road's interchange.
The legislature said all the projects were meant to improve livelihoods of the residents given that if roads were well done, costs of transporting goods and fare would consequently go down as security lights and CCTV's would lead to enhanced security in the town.
The Machakos County government has installed several streetlights and CCTV's along the said road with those at the Nairobi Namanga interchange of Mombasa road being lit with both solar and wind energies.
He lauded the governor for what he said exemplary work and commitment as far as initiating viable and exclusive projects to Machakos residents was concerned.
Makau said the projects had also created credible jobs to most of the residents especially the youth who he disclosed their livelihoods had changed since they got to the tasks.
