Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has censured a section of Jubilee legislators for taking him to task for criticising President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
The Chama Cha Mashinani leader said most of them are political beginners and should stop lecturing him on matters of politics when he castigates Jubilee leadership.
“I play in the league of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto who are my age mates so these greenhorns must stop lecturing me and leave me to engage in politics with the duo," he said on Saturday.
He added: "I am ready to face head-on the President and his DP on political matters because we joined politics together in 1990s."
Ruto, who was speaking in Kericho town, said the leaders are being paid by the government to soil his name for calling for more resources to be allocated to the devolved units to spur development.
“These political amateurs don’t match me in politics and they must leave me alone. I know they are paid to soil my name but they will not succeed because I fight for the ordinary man and this has endeared me to them,” said Ruto.
The rebel Jubilee Governor has recently come under scathing attack from Jubilee leaders including Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso, Nandi Hills Senator Alfred Sang among others.
The leaders have blamed the CCM party leader for undermining Deputy President William Ruto's leadership in Rift Valley.
