Kisumu County Governor Professor Peter Anyang Nyong’o will next month preside over a fundraiser in support of Kisumu County Sponsored football team, Kisumu All Stars.
According to Kisumu All Stars Patron Achie Ojany Alai, the fundraiser will be held at the Acacia Premier Hotel in Kisumu on Friday, May 04, 2018 starting 6pm.“
As you will agree, it is costly running a football team without co-operating sponsorship. It is to this end that the Governor has agreed to preside over a fundraising event to assist the county meet its financial obligations and at the same time we will be encouraging sponsors to come on board as partners,” reads Alai’s statement.
“Any contribution to the club via the pay bill 328169 number will be appreciated with the cheque being drawn in favor of KISUMU ALL STARS FOOTBALL CLUB,” she added.
Kisumu All Stars was formed towards the end of last year to take up Palos FC’s spot in the National Super League (NSL).
Palos was disbanded due to lack of funds.The All Stars team famously referred to as Blue Eagles have been struggling financially, despite putting up a spirited fight in its debut season in NSL.
The team is currently 9th on the NSL log with 19 points from 12 rounds of play. Kisumu All Stars has won five matches, drawn four and lost 3 games.
