Kerio Valley residents have warned Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos against politicising a Sh30 billion Arror Dam project in the county.The locals led by Kerio Youths Association chairman Joel Kimaiyo, further wants the county government to stop opposing the construction of the multipurpose dam.They said the establishment of the the dam will help in supplying of water for irrigation as well as water for domestic uses to the drier parts of the Kerio Valley belt."Our governor should stop interfering with plans by the Kerio Valley Development Authority in collaboration with the Italian government to establish power and irrigation projects on the valley," the Star quotes Kimaiyo.The residents have termed the project as a life-changing project which they say will solve perennial famine and cattle rustling that have interfered with development in the area for many years.
