Tana River Governor Dhadho Godhana has named seven members to join the county executive committee (CeC) as he seeks to transform the region in the next five years.
The nominees are expected to appear before the county assembly for vetting and approval before taking over their new roles in the government.
The county boss said that he took into account several aspects including the diversity of the area, educational qualifications, experience, skills and tribes before naming the cabinet.
The nominees are Ms Khadija Harufa Algi (Public services management and ICT), Mr. Adan Siyati Kalif (Trade, cooperative, Industry and Tourism department), and Mr. Suleiman Yese Buko (Finance and Planning), Mr. Abbas Kuno (Lands, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries).
Others are Ms Mwanajuma Haboka Mabuke (Executive for Water, Energy, Environment and Natural resources), Mr Steven Wachira Kariuki (Public Works, Roads, Housing and Urbanization) and Mr. Shukri Sugor Adhan (Education, Youths, Sports, Gender and Social services).
The county boss is expected to name the officer who will take charge of the Health and Sanitation department.
The governor said that his government has taken care of the needs of all the residents, adding that he is ready to restore the lost glory in the next five years of his leadership after his win.
