Polyns Ochieng, who is the former Nyakach MP has urged Kisumu County Governor Jack Ranguma to ensure that he heavily invests on infrastructure so that he can fast-track the economic growth and also development in the county.
Speaking to the press at Nyakach town on Friday, Ochieng said that farmers usually incur huge losses due to the poor roads as they are not able to transport their products to the market on time.
“I urge our county government to ensure that it invests heavily on the roads. They should go ahead and repair all roads and ensure that they are well maintained. If we have roads, it means that our farmers will be able to take their products to the market on time and also that the cost of transportation will be reduced,” said Ochieng.
Ochieng further said that a number of county residents are either farmers, or rely on farming, and by improving the roads and other infrastructures will help them transport their products and also conduct their businesses without much difficulties.
“I also urge the county government to give support to farmers and ensure that their grievances are heard at all times. Investing to the infrastructure in this country was the only key to bringing development,” added Ochieng.
The former MP also asked the county government to ensure that it involves the public participations in all the development projects.
