Kisii County governor James Ongwae has urged electorates from various counties to ensure that they keenly scrutinize all aspirants before voting them in.
Ongwae said most aspirants were guided by their selfish interests adding that their election, would be detrimental in development.
The Kisii County boss, who is facing stiff competition from senator Chris Obure, also urged local to elect leaders of unquestionable integrity.
"We are nearing elections and more people are coming on board. Kindly scrutinize us before voting. We all need credible leaders," he said.
"Be guided by our track record and don't depend on handouts. All we need is impressive development," Ongwae said.
He made the appeal on Wednesday evening after an impromptu appearance to a funeral in Suneka area.
