Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has urged county leaders to put aside their differences and work together to foster development.
Speaking on Friday at Gatundu South during the launch of a bus station at Gatundu Town and disbursement of bursaries cheques to all four wards of the sub-county, Kabogo said that there is need for leaders to bury the hatchet and focus on development.
“Leaders should stop quarrelling and work together to spur development. Leaders should take their roles seriously and serve the electorate with diligence,” said Kabogo.
He said that the new stage would ease traffic congestion being witnessed in the town and offer employment to youth. He added that a storey building would be built next to the stage to offer employment opportunities.
During the occasion, the four wards in Gatundu South received their bursaries to help bright but needy students access secondary education.
Kabogo urged those vested with the bursary kitty to exercise transparency in the disbursement of education funds.
“We want the bursary kitty to benefit the needy students to enable them access education like other children,” said Kabogo.
