Garissa County Governor Ali Korane has promised to promote public participation when making key decisions affecting the county as provided for in the constitution.Speaking on Monday when he presided over the swearing in of six county executive committee members, Korane said residents will be involved when key decisions concerning county matters are made.The Governor argued that the move will ensure the living standards of residents are improved as their interests will be well catered for.Korane noted that his administration will be firm, adding that no politician or individual will be allowed to influence the activities of the county.“During decision-making, people will be involved to enhance service delivery. No influence from politicians or individuals will be allowed,” said Korane.The county boss also sent a stern warning to individuals engaging in corruption, saying all corrupt and non-performing county officials will be sacked. "Service delivery is the main agenda in my tenure. Any case of corruption and poor performing staff will be sent home,” he said. The Jubilee Governor promised residents that he will soon address the various challenges they’re facing such as lack of water.
