A group of MCAs and their deputy have been blocked from attending a meeting chaired by Governor Mwangi Wa Iria at Sawela Lodge in Naivasha.
The group of nine MCAs and the deputy governor Gakure Monyo from Murang'a County were barred from the meeting to discuss budget implementation in the county.
Armed police officers stopped the group from entering the venue of the meeting saying they were following orders.
"We have strict orders from the Governor that we should not allow you into this meeting as you have not been invited," one of the officers was heard telling the outcast team.
Kinyona Ward MCA Charles Kirigwi claimed that the locked out was because the nine MCAs attended Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau’s homecoming party last weekend.
He added that the meeting was discussing taxpayers’ money without the voters’ representation.
“It's sad that at this time and age one person wants to control everything," he said.
Kamau is eyeing the Murang'a governor’s seat and he launched his bid a meeting attended by various leaders and several residents last weekend.
