Paul Karungo Thang’wa who is a radio presenter at Gukena Fm, a Kikuyu radio station owned by Radio Africa Group has been nominated to replace sacked Kiambu CeC John Mugwe.
Mr Karungo who earlier served as Ngewa Ward MCA was a fierce critic of former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo.
The radio presenter is set to replace Engineer John Mugwe as the new Roads, Transport, Public Works and Utilities County Executive Committee Member.
Mr Mugwe was sacked by Governor Ferdinand Waititu on grounds of failing to discharge his responsibilities as required.
Waititu termed Mugwe as a poor team player who was not keen on delivering his responsibilities.
"Unfortunately, I have observed that you are not keen on delivering on your responsibilities. You are also not a good team player which is affecting our overall performance of your responsibilities and that of the county government as a whole. I hereby relieve you of your responsibilities with immediate effect," read the dismissal letter.
Mr Mugwe has a Degree in Electrical Space Engineering from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s degree in Space Engineering from ISU University in France.
He was also a key player in Governor Waititu's campaign in the run-up to the August 8 election.
The newly nominated CeC is set to be soon vetted by members of the Kiambu County Assembly.
