[Photo|Courtesy]Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati has scheduled a meeting with principals of national, county and extra county schools in a week's time in which he hopes to enlist the support of the head teachers to ensure all needy cases are identified and helped through school. In the meeting, the principals are expected to table a list of all students from the County admitted to their schools but who are yet to report to those specific schools. From the lists, the governor hopes to do a follow up on each case in a bid to ensure no student from Bungoma County actually fails to turn up in school on account of school fees. "By end month, we shall have made sure all students from the County have reported to their respective schools," he said on Friday as communicated by his communication team. Following the overwhelming success of the County Bursary Fund and Scholarship Fund, the Governor has committed to raise the Bursary Fund to a record Sh800 million by the start of January 1, 2019 academic calendar."I will raise the Bursary Fund from the Sh400 million we are giving this year to Sh500 million in the 2018-2019 County Budget," Wangamati said."I will then fundraise for the remaining Sh300 million to make Sh800 million," he said, adding that he is in the process of constituting a fundraising committee to this effect so that there is 100% transition rate from primary to secondary starting January 1, 2019.
