Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja wants persons spreading hate messages arrested and probed over the same.Samboja’s remarks come after unknown persons circulated leaflets asking non-locals to leave the county within 72 hours. "It's sad that some people in this county are spreading leaflets telling people from other tribes to pack and go," said Samboja when he addressed journalists on Saturday.The county boss said Kenyans have a right to stay anywhere they deem suitable for them, adding that no one has the authority to interfere with the lives of others in the name of politics. He called upon security personnel in the county to speed up investigations into the matter, and assure residents of their security On his part, Taita Taveta County Police Commander Fred Ochieng said security personnel are probing the matter, but no arrests have been made in regard to the leaflets.A similar scenario was witnessed in Bungoma and Kakamega counties where hate leaflets were circulated following Thursday’s repeat presidential election.
