Wajir County government will not tolerate cases of laxity, Governor Mohamed Abdi has said. 

According to a local daily, the county boss reminded the new members of his cabinet to deliver on their mandate following appointment or else he will fire them and hire a new team in a bid to make Wajir a better place. 

Addressing the members of they were sworn into office, the governor urged to work with diligence to ensure that Wajir does not continue to lag behind in matters of development like has been doing in the past years because of poor governance.

The county boss also called upon the residents to hold the government responsible for its action in the next five years of his leadership. He reminded them that the executives needs the support of the people in order to perform in their different capacities. 

“Failing to support officials means they will not succeed and if they fail to succeed, my deputy and I will automatically have failed,” he said, as quoted by the Local Daily. 

He also exuded confidence that the new government will perform better than its predecessors. 

 “I want to assure you that under my leadership, service delivery will be paramount. I will not hesitate, even for a second, to replace any official asleep on the job.”
