Kisii county governor James Ongwae has now warned all nurses to avoid holding other commitments as that will affect their performance and cost their jobs.
According to the governor, the county has already received reports that most of the nurses in the county own private hospitals which they run alongside working for the county.
Speaking on Monday while addressing a number of nurses at Kisii level five hospital the governor said they are committed to ensuring that they upraise the living standards of the nurses by paying them well according to the recent agreement with their union.
“We need to raise the health standards of the county and that can’t be achieved if some of the nurses have side jobs that they run and those involved should stop with immediate effect,” said Ongwae.
