Council of Governors Finance Committee chair Wycliffe OParanya has urged the government to allow counties to adopt a different payment system.
This follows the breakdown of the Integrated Financial Management System (IFMIS).
According to the Kakamega governor, the IFMIS system has not been functional for the past last four days.
He said that the breakdown has paralyzed operations at the county level where suppliers and employees of the County Governments will not receive their payments for this month.
