Migori governor Okoth Obado has appealed to medical practitioners to end the month-long industrial strike that has paralysed the health care sector in the country.
Speaking in Awendo Sub-County on Wednesday, the governor challenged the doctors to consider patients who are languishing in pain in health facilities, urging them to embrace dialogue with the government to find a middle ground for the pay stalemate.
"We want to appeal to our doctors to please consider the suffering patients are going through. They really need your services," he said.
"We need to be humane and mindful of the lives of the patients in the country. With dialogue, we will find solution to your grievances," he added.
The doctors, however, through the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union have vowed to continue with the strike until the government implements a CBA they signed in 2013.
