According to the outspoken politician, governors should be allowed to serve for the second term in order to ensure stability and success when it comes to devolution.

His sentiments come at a time when senators from different parts of the nation are out to dethrone the incumbents in the next general polls.

The governor argues that they deserve re-election to ensure that the work they started progresses.

Speaking in Kisumu Town during an event in which governor Kisumu’s Jack Ranguma was given the devolution torch by Meru Governor Peter Munya, Ojaamong reminded the electorate that they have brought massive development in counties after the election.

“As the pioneer governors of devolution, we took three years to put in place structures for the effective implementation of projects,” he said.

He also said that devolution services have been brought closer to the people.

During the same event, Ojaamong accused the national government of hampering the efforts to implement devolution.

“The national government does little for citizens and therefore it is prudent for the counties to receive a huge chunk of allocations,” he said as quoted by The Star.
