The MP said some governors need to be investigated because they have been using huge funds to attend unnecessary meetings instead of using the money to initiate projects in their counties.

“Some forums are wasting the country’s resources and should be avoided because such events make governors to embezzle funds and when asked the whereabouts the development money they end up saying the money was used as fare to ghost meetings. DPP Noordin Haji should move with speed and investigate the governors misusing and misappropriating funds,” he said.

He said, for instance, Kisii County lacks fire engines to fight fires but Governor Ongwae and his Deputy Joash Maangi are at the forefront attending conferences.

“You can hear Ongwae and his Deputy are in Mombasa attending conferences but back in the county, there are no modern fire engines to fight fires. The billions being spent as fare should be used to boost service delivery in the county,” he added.

Oyioka said Kenyans need service delivery and not leaders to attend conferences without development in counties.
