Members of the county assembly have criticized the organizers of the County Assemblies Forum for failing to invite their county bosses.
Led by Peter Obwanga, an MCA in the Nyamira County government, the leaders said that the organizers had acted in bad faith.
Speaking in Mombasa on Monday, the MCAs said the move could broaden the rift between governors and senators.
“It will be difficult for the county bosses to approve and implement the resolutions that would be reached at in the conference since they were not involved in making them,” said Obwanga.
However, the County assemblies Secretary General Albert Kochei said they had consulted before making the decision of not inviting the county bosses, since they had just come from a devolution conference that was held in Meru.
Senators boycotted the Devolution Conference alleging that they were not part of the arrangements.
The conference involving all the MCAs and the 47 senators kicked off on Monday at a hotel in Mombasa.
