Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU) and Knun officials have since vowed not to call off the strike until their demands are met.

KMPDU chairman Samuel Oroko asked Kenyans to brace for tough times in the health sector. he said they will not settle to anything less than a 300 per cent salary hike as recommended by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), signed in 2015.

Addressing the press in Nairobi, Knun secretary general Seth Panyako warned that until a harmonized CBA is signed between nurses and the government, nurses will continue with the strike.
