Striking nurses across the country have been urged to resume their duties and allow union officials to continue negotiating with the Council of Governors (CoG).
Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has further told the nurses union officials to accept the fact that the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) has a role to play in determining the nurses salaries.
Speaking in Eldoret on Monday, Mandago lamented that many innocent Kenyans are suffering due to the strike that lasted over three months now.
He however thanked nurses in Uasin Gishu for not being part of the national wide industrial action.
"While others are still on strike, we are happy to report that in this county our nurses are at work providing services to mwananchi," Mandago noted.
"For those striking we urge that they resume work even as negotiations continue because a human life lost for lack of services cannot be recovered unlike the salaries which can be backdated," he added.
Nurses have been on strike demanding for the recognition of their collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
