The Fifth annual Devolution Conference taking place in Kakamega is set to kick off on Monday evening with a friendly football match between Governors who will play against Cabinet Secretaries (CS’s) and Permanent Secretaries (PS’s).
The playoffs are slated for Monday evening at Bukhungu stadium and will also see the County Senators lock horns with County Assemblies Forum (CAF).
The matches are aimed at improving the relations between the National and County Governments.
Before the matches start, Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o is set to chair a Council of Governors Health Committee meeting in Kakamega.
Later in the evening, the Cabinet Secretary for the State Department of Industrialization and Enterprise Development Mohammed Adan will pay a courtesy call on Governor Nyong’o in his Kisumu office.
This will then be followed with a meeting between Governor Nyong’o and the American Ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec at Acacia Premier Hotel at 7 pm.
On Tuesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to open the Devolution conference which is expected to be graced by over 6,000 local and international dignitaries.
