The Council of Governors (CoG) will spend approximately Sh3.75 million on a two-days conference, to explain to children how Devolution works.

The event to be held February 27 to 28, in preparation for the Annual Devolution Conference, will see four children aged between 10 and 18-years, picked from every county to participate in the event at Nairobi Primary School, Nairobi County.

Out of the four, the Star said, one will be living with disability.

CoG indicated the 2017 Annual Children’s Conference would give Kenyan boys and girls an opportunity to tell their Devolution story.

It will focus on matters affecting them, such as health, agriculture, education, infrastructure, arts, talents, energy, sports, and culture.

According to CoG Communications Director Andrew Teyie, a panel comprised of members of the Kenya Secondary Heads Association (KeSHA) and Kenya Primary School Heads Association (KePSHA) will be the one to pick the children.
