Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has warned governors against using education as a campaign tool.
This after Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga sponsored a mock examination but decorated with his portrait.
In a statement, Matiang'i said that the government was not opposed to any partnership between stakeholders and schools but cautioned warned against to ensure that the rights of learners were protected.
The education CS further stated that it was unnecessary to decorate exam papers with photos, campaign messages and party colors.
Matiang'i said that by sponsoring mock examinations, county government were intruding in school activities something that should be left to the national government.
He stated that mock examination remained banned throughout all schools, something that should be respected.
Early this month, the CS suspended Siaya county education board for allowing an examination that contained Rasanga's portrait.
