Lucy Mandago has called upon the youth in Uasin Gishu to form Savings and Cooperative Societies (SACCOs) so as to benefit from State funds.

Speaking to the youth on Tuesday in Soy, Mrs Mandago said that accessing the funds by the government will be very easy when the youths are in groups as opposed to the individual.

"You can rarely succeed alone, form groups and even if you will not benefit from government funds you can start a kitty where you will be contributing money from member to member. That way you can create much impact in our community through generation of alternative income," she said.

She however urged the Ministry of Youth Affairs officers to help the youth in starting businesses so as to improve their living standards.

"We are aware that some youths lack the basic information on how to start a profitable business. We appeal to our officers to help the youths in the villages to venture into businesses and agriculture," she added
