In a rear move that was not anticipated the ten wives of governors from Nyanza and western regions have joined hands to campaigns for their husbands who are the seating governors.
The ten wives said that the first term their husbands are serving was just meant to lay the foundation hence they needed a second term so that they can accomplish development projects that they initiated.
Speaking in Nyamira early this week during a fundraising, the ten women lead by the Migori ‘first lady’ Helen Okoth and her Kisumu counterpart Olivia Ranguma told those chasing gubernatorial positions to go slow and wait for 2022.
While speaking at Nyamira Catholic church parish, Hellen Okoth the Migori governor’s wife told at West Mugirango Mp James Gesami who has declared interest for Nyamira gubernatorial race to unseat Nyagarama the husband of Naomi Nyagarama who was hosting them.
Okoth told Gesami to leave ‘mzee’ finish his two terms to get his pension when he goes for retire.
The Kisumu governor’s wife Olivia Ranguma said that the 10 women will continue to support each other to continue serving the people in their counties as their positions have become sweet and everybody wants it now.
She also challenged those seeking to unseat governors to respect them and join them in doing development projects .
They vowed to continue with their rallies in the 10 counties where they hail from.
