Western and Nyanza first ladies have vowed to continue supporting devolution by supporting and empowering women in the society.
Speaking on Sunday at St Joseph Nyamira Mission catholic church during a fund raising in aid of construction of sisters' house, the ladies, led by Nyamira’s first lady Naomi Nyagarama, said they decided to come together in aid of the women in the society.
Kisii County first lady Elizabeth Ongwae added that they have come together since the problems they undergo are all the same across all counties.
“Today (Sunday), being mothers day we have come here as the first ladies so that we can empower our women, and we will continue supporting the women of this nation until they achieve their goals,” said Elizabeth.
The women also took time to campaign for the incumbent governors, asking locals to give them another term to achieve their manifesto and promises.
Among the first ladies present were Siaya, Kisumu, Bungoma, Busia, Vihiga, Migori, and kakamega, who contributed Sh450,000 in aid of the construction.
