He said this would help operations at the Kenyan Coast, following frequent technical Ferry breakdowns, which brings services at standstill.

Speaking when he toured Likoni over the weekend, Ruto assured that Mtongwe Ferry would be operational starting March, after it was refurbished.

"(The government) has refurbished the Mtongwe Ferry, which will resume operations next month,'' he disclosed.

Ruto added: ''This will also end the long running congestion at the Likoni Channel, allowing more residents to transact business.''

Addressing residents, the DP indicate the requisite infrastructure was being put in place to turn Mombasa County into a robust, 24-hour economy.

"Street lighting, expansion of roads, modernising the port and good security apparatus are ingredients to boost business and tourism,'' he noted.
