[Photo: Courtesy]The government has declared Monday, June 26, 2017, a public holiday.Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery said this is to allow Kenyans of the Muslim religion, to celebrate Eid-al-Fitr.Eid-al-Fitr is a holiday to mark the end of the Islamic month of Ramadan, during which Muslims fast during the hours of daylight.In a publication on the Kenya Gazette, dated June 20, Nkaissery cited the Public Holidays Act (Cap. 110) of the Laws of Kenya.
