The government has moved swiftly to evacuate non-locals residing in Jima area, of Lamu County, following Al-Shabaab attack that saw at least nine people killed, Friday night.
This is after some of the residents started fleeing their homes, in fear of fresh attacks, by the militants who are believed to be using the neighbouring Boni Forest as their hideout.
During the night of attack, the Daily Nation reported up to 15 heavily armed Al-Shabaab terrorists reportedly rounded up residents, before beheading men only, with knives.
The attack came two days after the attackers killed four people, in Pandanguo.
The Acting Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary, Dr Fred Matiang'i has since imposed a dusk to dawn curfew in the county.
