Led by Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi and Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire, the leaders said the govenemtn has failed to deliver on its promises to provide jobs for the youths.

Their remarks come a few days after Public Service and Gender Affairs Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki on Wednesday launched the services in Borabu and Kitutu Masaba in Nyamira and Nyaribari Chache constituencies.

During the launch, Ms Kariuki urged more youths to enroll in the programme, adding that those who have been enrolled stand a chance to continue earning their weekly pay.

She urged the youth to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta, as he will continue with the project if he ascends to power after the August 8 elections.

Similar projects are also in Bobasi, Nyaribari Masaba, Bomachoge Borabu.

The programme was marred with controversy early on in the year, with some constituencies halting theirs after the NYS scam that hit the Devolution Ministry.
