The government has put in place measures that will see all Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) institutions across the country equipped with modern facilities.

According to Principal Secretary Vocational and Technical Training Dr. Dinah Mwinzi, over 134 TVET institutions are expected to have state of the art training facilities within the next three years.The ambitious programme is estimated to cost Sh158 billion.

"We understand how important TVET institutions are for us to realize vision 2030 and this is why we are willing to invest heavily on them," noted Dr Mwinzi when he presided over the closing of the Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI) international conference in Eldoret.

"We are quickly turning into an Industrialized nation and we will need people to work in those industries and majority them will definitely be from TVETs," she added.

The Vocational and Technical Training PS further said the government is currently training over 1,000 TVET teachers with the help of the government of People's Republic of China and the World Bank among other development partners.
