The aim of the program is to give unemployed graduate youths a work experience opportunity.

County governor Jackson Mandago said graduates under the program will be paid.

"Graduates from various universities and technical institutions with Uasin Gishu County will be the beneficiaries. Certificate, diploma and degree graduates will be paid a varying amount of money to enable them to boost their lifestyles,” he said.

Mandago added that the graduates will be absorbed by the county government and private companies in the region within a period of 12 months.

He said no graduate will be asked for a bribe to join the program.

“Cartels should keep off the program we have started. No youths should be asked to pay any money to join the program. Anyone demanding bribes should be reported to authorities,” said the governor who challenged graduates to apply for the opportunities.

"Graduates should apply so that they don’t idle in villages. Am sure the program will help end crime because jobless youths have always been engaging in crime,” he added.

The governor was speaking in Eldoret town on Wednesday.
