Graduations celebrations in Nakuru turned tragic on Wednesday after a graduate drowned during a party.
Simon Mbugua, 27, was with friends at the Pilgrims Getawa Hotel, Ngata, on Wednesday to party after he graduated from the Rift Valley Institute of Business Studies.
Unfortunately, he and a friend drown while swimming.
“We were eight inside the pool and we were swimming while taking selfies,” said a friend.
“Three of us, among them the deceased, moved to the deep end and left the rest of us at the shallow end.“Then we heard screams from two of the three and rushed there. We saved one and two drowned.”
The friend said.
Efforts to reach the hotel were futile.
