A 82-year-old granny was hit and killed by a speeding car along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway on Sunday night.

The granny was crossing the road near Ihindu trading center 20kms from Naivasha town when the accident occurred.

According to one of the area leaders James Kabono, the speeding car fled from the scene after the accident.

Kabono said that the car was in high speed when it hit the woman killing her on the spot adding that the incident affected the flow of traffic.

“We had seen the number of accidents on this section of the road reduce after speed bumps were erected but unfortunately we have lost a life through careless driving,” he said.
