Residents of Matungulu sub-county in Machakos county have stated that more funds should be allocated to public amenities that offer service to all residents at grassroots level.
Speaking on Monday in Tala African Inland Church during the budget public participation forum strategy, the residents stated the important projects have in past been ignored.
The Matungulu North Ward member of county assembly Peter Nzoka who was also present stated that facilities like dispensaries in the previous badger had been allocated between Sh10-15 million but the projects remain unfinished.
"The government should consider developments suggested by the public during forums. The public has complained that their issues are not dealt with as agreed upon while setting budgets," stated Nzoka.
The MCA called upon the governor of Machakos county Dr Alfred Mutua to consider grassroots level projects rather than politics and public relations.
"The people have complained a lot and therefore the governor should follow what people decide but not what will gain him more popularity," he added.
The 2016/17 fiscal strategy budget forum has been held in all the 8 sub-counties in Machakos county.
