The calmness is back. The glory can't be forgotten, and history has been made. It's the first time for the team to make it that far.
Hopefully, not ready to give up to be better. It's Shujaa, the Kenya rugby sevens team which won the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Singapore on Sunday.
Such a great bunch of real patriots. Their win offers us as a country the following lessons.
1. Teamwork
The unity, agreement and the performance in the field can only be well illustrated by one word; teamwork. When a team cooperates, agrees to be a unit, success is inevitable.
2. Prayers
The playful champions were also prayerful. It was a great source of motivation this team could not do without. Prayers not only boost confidence but also make one's conscience clear. The secret worked so well for the Shujaa.
3. Resilience
There was the low moment when the team almost got kicked out. This never met surrender. Shujaa players had the the ability to recover, rejuvenate and change the momentum to emerge the best. It's always possible to recover, with the right spirit.
4. Preparation
To make it in the HSBC Rugby World Series was not a walk in the park. The team prepared both intensively and extensively. Success in anything is not an overnight activity. It requires patience and thorough preparation.
5. Persistence
The Kenyan team has tried to get the award for long but lost. This did not kill its spirit. Persistence has been pursued relentlessly. Persistence makes the challenge challenged to bow to the demands of the pursuant.
6. Name Power
It might be funny but the name Shujaa (hero) affected the results. How could one expect heroes to lose? Your name may affect your performance! These are the most conspicuous and applicable lessons we should learn from the winning team! Congratulations our shujaas.
