Create rapport with your roommate A person you will spend most of your time with is your roommate. Whether a fellow fresher or a continuing student, create a relationship of mutual understanding and trust and agreement with your roommate. It is during this first semester that students have a lot of free time. This is the time you will start building your future life in Kenya. Find cool stuff to do, especially those that have a positive impact in your life, learning a new skill. Trust no one in the university around your stuff. You don’t have to learn life the hard way by getting all your stuff stolen. Set rules with your roommate that will ensure all safety of your stuff. Lock your room when you get out, plus don’t leave your clothes on the hanging line.

Keep your faith strong

When students get to university, it’s common to see many backslide. Always remember that you will need God’s help when you are caught in a hard situation. This is the time to continue being a strong believer so that you avoid the temptations associated with campus life.
