Rugby 15s defending champions Kakamega High School are through to the semi-finals of the Western Region School Games after winning both their Pool B fixtures.
Kakamega edged out Chavakali High 12-3 in their opener before outclassing Busia County’s Sigalame High 31-0 in their second match.
Kakamega coach Amos Wamanga said he was pleased by the results but warned his charges not to ease their feet on the gas just yet.
“Great game shown by the boys but we’re not yet done until we get our hands on the trophy,” he said.
In Pool B, last year’s regional finalists St Peters Mumias also breezed into the semis after winning 10-0 against Vihiga and thrashing Nambale 52-0 in their opening two group games.
Bungoma High also defeated Nambale (18-3) and Vihiga (13-9) to secure their semis spot and will face St Peters to determine the group winner today.
Tigoi breathing out fire in basketball, defending champions Tigoi Girls began their title defense with a 35 -14 win before labouring to overcome Mukumu Girls 38-35 in their second fixture.
In the boys' category, last years finalists Sigalame defeated Chavakali 77-46 and followed up with a 67-46 win over Mukumu Boys.
