Nyamunga said she has sourced for partners who will help the county residents to set up the green house structures.

She said there is an Israeli expert and Kenya Commercial Bank that will be able to assist the county residents come up with the venture.

Nyamunga said that the county has the potential to produce food crop and with the introduction of a green house, there will be enough food all season.

“It is high time our people realised that there is money in farming; be it in fish ponds, dairy, poultry or horticultural farming,” said Nyamunga.

Speaking at her rural home in Nyando Constituency on Saturday when she launched the programme, Women Rep. Nyamunga said that she has taken the initiative to put up the green house in her farm to act as a demonstration centre for farmers in the county.

She said the Israeli experts will help in putting the structures while the bank will give up to 90 percent money needed to start the venture.

Nyamunga said farmers will be able to grow tomatoes, kales, cabbages and other horticultural produce that can even be exported to other countries through the refurbished Kisumu International Airport.

She called upon Kisumu County residents to embrace the project and other agricultural ventures to get quick money noting that it is sad that majority of food stuff being consumed in Kisumu comes from outside the county.
