A dark cloud hangs in Mung’etho Kuresoi, Nakuru County after two four year old twin boys were found dead and dumped in a river.
The two kids had been left home by their mother who is a widow and had gone out for a manual job.
Residents have now called upon the local administration to speed up investigations into the cause of the kids’ deaths and bring the perpetrators to book.
“It looks like these children were killed elsewhere before they were thrown into this river”, Jamleck Muikia, a resident says.
“I was just sitting outside my house when I heard screams. On arrival here I found the two kids dead. These children belong to a widowed woman and there is a problem here in Mung’etho,” said Nancy Wambui, another resident.
“This is another bizarre incident as those kids had been left by their mother in the house. Nobody knows how they died and how they ended up in the river,” John Njoroge, a neighbour added.
The residents are now asking the government to help protect children who are more prone to such dangers.
