Four people have been confirmed dead and three others seriously injured after the vehicle they were travelling in collided head-on with a lorry along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
The Thursday afternoon accident occurred when a speeding saloon vehicle rammed into an oncoming lorry that was overtaking another car at Jogoo Trading Centre along the busy highway.
Three other occupants of the saloon vehicle sustained serious injuries and are admitted at the Molo District Hospital.
Molo Traffic Base Commander,Inspector Moses Nderitu, confirming the incident said the saloon car was speeding from Eldoret heading to Nakuru while the lorry was heading the opposite direction when the accident occurred.
Witnesses at the scene of the accident claim that the driver of the saloon car might have been escaping arrest by the National Transport and Safety Authority officials after he declined to stop at a roadblock.
