Adan Ibrahim Hassan with his colleague reported to his workstation, as usual, to collect revenue at one of the town center barriers in Mandera today. 

As he was going about his duties, a lorry lost control and hit him from behind leading to the loss of his life.

Adan was in the process of managing the many cars on the queue when suddenly the lorry came with high speed while in the line of duty.

Mandera county's highway which residents live on the edge of the road confirmed the road not to be not having road's marks, bumps and zebra crossings which leads to many accidents majorly during this period when kids normally cross the road for school.

The revenue collectors who play a vital role in making sure the county gets funds contend with a myriad of challenges from low salaries to punishing weather conditions.

The residents have demanded the immediate erection of road marks and bumps for their kids' safety and sent an alarm to the government to make sure the speed limits of the cars are checked when driving within the town.
