Gatundu south Youth, Women and People Living with Disabilities’ groups have benefitted from Sh 9 million Uwezo Funds disbursed by the area MP Moses Kuria.
The groups have been undergoing vetting, training and the qualified groups were given the funds which are set to help them boost their activities including businesses and investments.
Speaking in the constituency while disbursing cheques, Kuria said the beneficiaries will be able to use the funds in a better way as they were fully trained and sensitised on the same.
“The beneficiaries were fully sensitised on the timely payment of the cash and I am sure we will not be forcing anyone to repay the same,” he said.
He called on those that didn’t benefit from the same to make efforts and apply as there are Sh 6M more in the kitty left, which will be disbursed at a later date.
Those that didn’t qualify for the fund have also been called upon to re-apply so as to be vetted again.
“Groups should now be keen when re-applying considering on the mistakes made in the earlier applications,” he said.
